Burial Process
We offer two types of burial services to honour your loved one in the way that feels most meaningful: Traditional Funeral Service and Non-Traditional Service.
At Gentle Hand Funerals, we are here to provide care and support throughout the burial interment process, from transferring your loved one from their place of passing to their final resting place and delivering the death certificate to you.
Burial Options
We offer two types of burial services to honour your loved one in the way that feels most meaningful:
Traditional Funeral Service: This includes a Requiem Mass or Prayers of the Liturgy, followed by an interment at the cemetery.
Non-Traditional Service – A funeral ceremony or service held in a venue, chapel, or another location, with the interment taking place afterwards.
Interment at the Cemetery
We handle all arrangements with the cemetery, ensuring the details provided by your family are accurate and everything is in place for a respectful burial.
The Burial Process
Planning a burial involves several steps, and we will walk this journey with you:
We will arrange a meeting with you (as the next of kin) and your family. It’s often helpful to have someone accompany you for support during the arrangement meeting. At this meeting, we will sign the Transfer of Authority to bring your loved one into our care.
We will obtain the Medical Cause of Death from the General Practitioner or the necessary paperwork from the coroner if an investigation is required.
We will complete the information needed for Births, Deaths, and Marriages. We will lodge the death certificate on your behalf on the day of the funeral.
We will discuss all available options and products to ensure the service reflects your loved one’s wishes and your family’s needs.
We will manage all bookings and coordinate with the necessary parties involved in the funeral and burial.
If applicable, we can assist you with lodging claims for funeral insurance.
On the day of the funeral, we will be there to support you and your family as you say goodbye.
After the funeral, we will personally deliver the death certificate to you.
